Happy Earth Day! What are you doing to celebrate? (Just kidding. Does one really celebrate Earth Day?)
In honor of our planet and this special day, I’m going green by recycling posts! Yep, that’s right. Instead of writing a whole new post with a new idea today, I’m sharing four “vintage” Average But Inspired Earth-friendly projects that are easy, affordable and cute!
First up is the good old Trash to Treasure Bangle Bracelet. This was one of my first posts on Average But Inspired! I used an ugly bangle bracelet, some earring widows (earrings who’ve lost their mates), fabric and hot glue to create this beauty.
Next we have the Diaper Box Wall Organizer. Yep, this baby is made with an old diaper box, some fabric and again, some hot glue. It is hanging in my kitchen and keeps all of my incoming and outgoing paperwork neat and tidy!
Third on our list is the Spray Painted Welcome Mat. When Fall rolled around, this mat was spared a trip to the garbage can because I gave it a new design on the back side. The opposite side is a really pretty floral design that was much to summery for Fall and Winter. See if any of your old mats can be saved, too!
Finally we have the Coffee Canister Vase. Made with a Folgers coffee canister, burlap, baker’s twine, stickers and hot glue, this vase is the cheapest and cutest one in my collection. Plus, the stickers can be switched out with each season.
Man, I am so green it kills me. Hug a tree today, okay?
