One of my most favorite holidays is Halloween, and it’s not because of the candy. (OK, it may actually be because of the candy. But let’s pretend it’s not.) The crisp air, kiddos’ excitement, and adorably tacky decor that accompanies the holiday all factor into my love of Halloween! So it’s no surprise that I like to start my decorating a tad bit early, like with this super cute fake pumpkin witch that I put together in under fifteen minutes!

How to Make a Spinning Art Supply Caddy
I started with a circular plastic container and small plastic buckets that I found at Dollar Tree.
I thought about painting the container and buckets because this shocking green color is not my favorite, but decided against it because my kids will likely draw all over this caddy anyway.
So instead of painting, I opted for a quicker method of beautification with some super sparkly glitter tape that I found at Michaels.
I took my large circle craft punch and punched semi-circles out of the glitter tape.
I then placed the semi-circles around the plastic bin to give a glittery scallop effect.
After the beautification was complete, I grabbed a turntable or lazy susan that I found at Target.
I stuck some Velcro around the top of the turntable so that I could affix it to the bottom of the plastic bin.
I wanted to be able to remove the turntable if necessary, so that’s why I chose to use Velcro instead of glue.
That’s it. So easy.
And no joke, this thing has made afternoon craft time so much easier for my kids! Instead of launching supplies at one another from across the table, they just spin their art supply storage caddy to get what they want.
It also makes for a fun toy in and of itself. 🙂
I love this simple little art supply storage idea! If you do, too, please pin it to share! And then, visit my post on how to create a DIY Pegboard for Kids Creation Station!
Easy DIY Kids Playroom Art
After dealing with sick kids all last week, this week just has to be better! Fingers crossed that my kids will spend less time in front of the TV and more time in their playroom having fun! Speaking of their playroom, I’m so excited to show you this DIY kids playroom art I recently made to help liven the place up a bit.
It uses leftover canvases, scrapbook paper I had on hand, and materials from Dollar Tree, and spells out the word “PLAY” in a very creative way!
It was easy and inexpensive, which are necessary attributes of any project of mine!

15 Fresh DIY Spring Decor Ideas
With the cold and gloom of winter melting away, thoughts are turning to sunnier days and springtime inspiration. The beginning of a new season is a perfect time to refresh your home decor, and the DIY spring decor ideas in this post will leave you inspired to do just that!
Think fresh flowers, birds, table decorations, spring blossoms, front door decor, and more!
And don’t worry: the spring decorating ideas in this post are surprisingly easy. They’re also affordable, so you won’t break the bank when you refresh your space for the season.
When should I start decorating for spring?
Who cares what “they” say: I say you should start decorating for spring as early as March! (Of course you can start planning your decor earlier than that!)
In many places, March is when the flowers start blooming and the birds start singing. Of course that is NOT the case in Wisconsin where I live, but I choose to follow what’s happening down south when it comes to spring decorations.
Consider it wishful thinking. Maybe if I put out my spring decor, spring will get here early! (Who needs Punxsutawney Phil and his shadow, or lack thereof, anyway?)
How do you decorate for spring on a budget?
As I mentioned earlier, the DIY spring decorations in this post are all budget-friendly, so they’re a great place to start!
And, as a general rule of thumb, here are three ways to decorate for spring on a budget.
First, repurpose things you already have. Use an old watering can as a vase or tie flowers around the base of old candlesticks.
Next, incorporate natural elements you find in the yard (such as flowers and branches), into your space. Fresh flowers and plants, as well as other natural items, instantly add life to any space!
Finally, shopping at Dollar Tree or the thrift store are great ways to decorate for spring on a budget. (You may find my posts on The Best Craft Supplies to Buy at Dollar Tree and Eight Home Decor Essentials to Buy at the Thrift Store helpful!)
